Our transitional pastor is Gary Becker. The goals of our transition are to reaffirm our biblical mission, build a vision for Church of the Open Bible, and to establish foundational strategies for renewed ministry. He is serving for an undefined length of time.
Pastor Gary Becker is the founder and executive director for Biblically Balanced Ministries, Inc. His desire is to enable others to equip people and churches to demonstrate Christ's love without biblical compromise through balanced living and ministry.
With more than forty years’ experience in pastoral ministry he now serves as a Barnabas in coming alongside pastors, people and churches as an encourager and leadership developer. His passions are focused on seeing churches balance four areas of ministry:
- Exploring the God given potential of ministry for His glory (Worship)
- Equipping believers for ministry and leadership with the Word of God (Discipleship)
- Encouraging biblical leadership facing the challenges of ministry today (Ministry)
- Expanding ministry for a greater local and global impact (Evangelism and global missions)
Educationally, he holds the degrees of a B.A. in Biblical Studies and a Th. B. from Northeastern Bible College, a Masters in Theological Education from New Brunswick Seminary and a Doctorate in Practical Theology from Masters University of Divinity.
He and his wife Dianne have four children (now adults) who are all walking in fellowship with the Lord and serving in churches. I [we] have no greater joy than to hear that my [our] children are walking in the truth (3 John 1:4). They are also blessed with ten grandchildren.
